    The Ballarat Veterinary Practice (BVP) has been providing high quality and personalised veterinary care to the Ballarat and surrounding community for over 75 years. Due to business growth, we are seeking several mature and experienced veterinarians to join our team.

    About the role
    The role will extend well past routine consultations, vaccinations and de-sexingsand willprovide the right applicant with access to interesting and challenging cases with manageable caseloads and a fair work-life balance. The key elements of the role are:
    • A high proficiency for companion animal preventative care
    • Continuing our work in building client relationships through improving the companion animal bond
    • Understanding the role of a team in getting results

    What you'll need to succeed
    To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who shows strong initiative and is able to demonstrate:

    • Three to five years' of proven experience in a clinic environment is preferable, but newly graduated veterinarians are welcome to apply
    • Dedication to delivering excellent client service and communication

    • An enquiring and inquisitive mind with a dedication to continuing education and sharing knowledge
    • Flexibility and adaptability to the approach to the working day and receptiveness to change

Veterinary Nurses (Casual)

Due to expanding business needs, The Ballarat Veterinary Practice is seeking to employ several dedicated, enthusiastic and committed professionals to build on its pool of casual Veterinary Nurses.

Ideally, those with nursing qualifications would be preferred, however we are ultimately looking for the right attitude and personality to fit within our team and culture. With this in mind, these roles would suit applicants who are currently undertaking Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing studies, and who are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, and who are dedicated to animal health and wellbeing.

The role will consist of duties such as:

  • Animal handling
  • Cleaning and sterilising equipment
  • Assisting vets in consultations
  • Basic medical procedures such as taking blood, placing catheters and monitoring anaesthetics
  • General patient care

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who shows strong initiative and is able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive and proven experience in animal handling
  • A commitment to continuing education

Your ability to embody these values is of great importance to us, and as such will be prioritised ahead of qualifications and previous experience. Your personality, and 'fit' within our team's culture is paramount.

The role will consist of duties such as:

  • Animal handling

  • Basic medical procedures such as taking blood, placing catheters and monitoring anaesthetics
  • General patient care

    Previous experience is desirable and a Cert IV qualification is preferable, however applicants currently enrolled and nearing completion of their Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing are encouraged to apply.
