Compulsory reporting of Major Fractures and / or Major Orthopaedic Surgery and Approval of Affected Horses returning to Racing

  1. Submit a comprehensive clinical report, by the Veterinary Surgeon who performed the surgical procedure or who managed the injury conservatively, providing details of the nature of the injury, the procedure performed, post-injury management recommended and the prognosis for a return to racing to Racing Victoria (RV)

2. Submit a report of the Veterinary Examination, which includes radiographs, of the injury structures as described in Trainer Notice point 3 (c), to RV.

On receipt of satisfactory clinical report to RV

5. Horse undertakes an Official Barrier Trial

6. Submit a report of a follow up Veterinary Examination and certification of suitability to race must be provided to RV prior to the horse entering a race.
