Equine Payment Policy

Ballarat Veterinary Practice is committed to providing quality services to you and your horses. This policy outlines our payment terms for services.

 

Payment Terms:

Payment of all accounts is due in full, on the day that the service has been provided.
Payment can be made by the following methods:

  • EFTPOS, Cash or Cheque
  • Electronic funds transfer to our bank account whilst in clinic
  • Vet Pay
What is Vet Pay?

VetPay is committed to supporting the integrity and ethics of the Veterinary Industry by partnering with Veterinarian Practices to offer a flexible payment plan to ensure the optimum level of health for all animals.
Making an application for VetPay can be completed online at www.vetpay.com.au and in the event of an emergency approval can generally be granted within 30 minutes. Once pre-approval is granted, an account can be active within 10-15 minutes. For scheduled procedures, pre-approval for quoted costs can be obtained. This service is subject to the terms and conditions set by VetPay.

Surgery and after hours:

Equine Clinic

Clients will receive a quote for all surgery, bone scan and MRI procedures. Quotes must be paid in full prior to the procedure.
Colic treatments require a 50% deposit of the estimated costs at time of admission.

Farm Visits

All mobile vets are equipped with Mobile EFT Machines. As per our payment policy, all fees incurred for farm visits are payable at time of treatment.

Returns and Refunds:

Unused prescription medications cannot be returned for refund.

Returns of prescription medications for refund can only be made if the product is faulty or past its expiry date. These returns must be made within 7 days of purchase.

Any items that require refrigeration cannot be returned for refund.

Where palatability is an issue, pet foods may be returned for a full refund. Opened packets must be returned with at least 75% of the product remaining within 7 days of purchase.

Companion Animal Clinics

All surgeries will require a deposit to the value of 50% of the estimated costs. This to be paid in advance or at time of admission.

All after hours services will incur an after-hours fee. Your veterinarian will provide you with the cost of this service over the phone. This fee must be paid in full in addition to services provided at the time of the consultation. Any after-hours admissions to our hospital (non-surgical) require a $500 deposit.

Appointments not attended:

Our clinic will contact all clients with scheduled appointments and surgeries on the business day prior to your appointment. If you are unable to attend, please confirm with “No” as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment to another client.

In the event that confirmation is received, and a client does not present for the appointment on more than 3 occasions, any future appointments will require a pre-payment of the consultation fee at the time of booking. This pre-payment will be deducted from the account at the time of consultation. If a client confirms a pre-paid consultations and fails to present, this payment will not be refunded.
